Rob Blauser is a native of Berks County, having grown up in Hamburg. From a very young age, he expressed an interest in drawing and photography, two skills that he continues to develop every day. Rob graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 2000, then attended Millersville University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2004. Afterward, Rob continued his education at San Francisco's prestigous Academy of Art University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2006. It was here that he was able to sharpen his skills in traditional drawing and sculpting, as well as digital art and animation.
For the next several years, he worked as a freelance visual effects artist for various clients in San Francisco and Los Angeles, working on several feature films, TV shows, and commercials. During this time, Rob was fortunate enough to be able to lend his artistic and technical skills to such projects as NBC's Medium, and David Fincher's Zodiac, where he had the pleasure of working for veteran visual effects supervisors Craig Barron and Chris Evans. In 2010, Rob decided to move back to Pennsylvania in order to be closer to family, and to pursue more personal creative endeavours. With a great respect for the skills and dicipline of the realist tradition, Rob's paintings reflect a careful eye for detail, and a sense of life and vibrance that a photograph simply can not convey. His philosophy is that anything worth doing is worth doing well.
